Uszka - her name is a mixture of a few letters. U - means the letter of the Baumwollschloesschen litter, KA and SZ are my initials. After a long search throughout European catteries -a lilac point female, the first one imported from a German cattery in Poland, has joined and completed my cattery on 26th September 2004. My cattery specialises in lilac shades of British cats and that's why I wanted a lilac point. As with every point, it took her a long time to get fully coloured. Since her kittenhood she has always been a polar bear. That's how she looked like at the time of her first show in Poznan and that's how she looks like now.She has brought another eye colour to my cattery. Now I have orange-eyed, green - eyed and blue-eyed female cats living with me.
Uszka doesn't like to be patted but when held in the arms she puurs very loudly. All our cats sleep with us but every night Uszka and Luska additionally check if we are properly tucked-in. If not- the touch our uncovered body parts with their paws. Uszka loves all the other cats. She tries to lay down on top of them, plays with Napoleonka, runs with Luska - when left alone she calls her mates very loudly. While walking with them she wants to walk side by side with another cat and her tail is wrapped around the other cat's tail. She is the most dominant cat in the cattery, but the respect of other females is won not by aggression, the other cats seem to be sure of the fact that Uszka is The Number One.
Her favourite activity is observing how water flows out of a bottle. If the bottle is capped she tries to beat it with her paws. She doesn't want to drink still water. When she is thirsty she puts her paw under her water bowl and makes waves. Only then the water seems drinkable.
There was a rare condition with Uszka - her nose took the longest time to get fully coloured. It took almost a year and a half. Uszka changed my opinion of lazy ,calm British cats. She doesn't walk on the top of the kitchen cupboards but, despite her massive body, jumping onto the kitchen table is not difficult at all.
She's been judged by several cat judges and their opinions were promissing. Because of this, when she finally got fully coloured, as an adult cat - she went to a cat show in Poznan in 2005 where she got her first CAC certificates. Moreover, to my great joy and pride, she was nominated to the best shorthaired female of the show. We were not lucky at the picking time but the nomination itself was quite a something.
At 2006 Uszka became a mom for the first time. (M Litter)
The kittens from liter M were as sweet as their mommy. The cutiest one Maciek – Macchiato – wanted to be carried in arms the whole days. Milka was a cuddler and a very brave kitten, Muffinka was very charming like her mom. Manius (Mascarpone) won many hearts and Mocha was the most energetic creature under the sun, you couldn’t take a photo of her because she was moving constantly, but her favourite place for sleeping was my knees. Milka was the kitten which was most connected to her mother. As such she stayed – loving only her owner with the real British love.
In 2009 Uszka had her next litter. The kittens are as sweet as this one before but very different in colours.
When the kittens grow up and leave our home we want to complete Uszka’s show titles because she needs only two more foreign certificates to finish the title of Supreme Champion (former Europa Champion)
